Almost 900,000 seniors over the age of 65 enjoy life in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, and increasing numbers are following the trend toward aging in place and choosing to remain in their own homes. Many aging adults are unaware of the available care options and programs that can help them maintain their independence and quality of life. The Senior Nutrition Program includes senior dining sites and home-delivered meals in communities throughout Minnesota. Senior dining sites also offer:
Social activities
Volunteer opportunities
Programs about health and nutrition
Information about other services like grocery shopping and delivery.
People age 60 or older may participate in the Senior Nutrition Program. Their spouse also may participate, even if they are not 60 or older. Participants may contribute toward the cost of meals provided.
