$100 Mini-Grant from CNO

The mini-grant returns! Residential property owners in the Corcoran neighborhood are eligible for a $100 mini-grant from CNO. Please check our new eligibility requirements before applying. Learn more here.

 

Loan Programs from CNO

CNO has made Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) funds available for Corcoran neighborhood homeowners to make repairs and improvements to their homes. The following three loan programs will soon be administered by Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation (GMHC). Please call GMHC’s Housing Resource Center South 612-722-7141 for complete details about each loan program.

  • Revolving Loan – $2,000 to $10,000 amount at 4% fixed interest rate

Available on a first come first serve basis for eligible improvements including: energy related improvements; most exterior improvements to address code violations, security and safety issues, general maintenance, and improvements for the public benefit. Terms include no maximum income limit, loan is secured by a mortgage on your property and closing costs apply.

  • Homebuyer Purchase Rehabilitation Loan – $1,000 to $10,000 amount at 0% fixed interest rate

Available for those who purchase a single family or duplex that is currently vacant due to foreclosure or abandonment. Properties must be owner-occupied, and loan is deferred until the time of sale of the property or refinance. Terms include no maximum income limit, loan is secured by a mortgage on your property and closing costs apply.

  • Emergency Deferred Loan – $1,000 to $5,000 amount at 0% fixed interest rate

Available for extreme and very limited cases where conditions make a Corcoran home uninhabitable, extremely dangerous to the occupants, or capable of causing severe health problems. Terms include income limits, loan is secured by a mortgage on your property and closing costs apply.

 

Foreclosure Prevention

Worried about Foreclosure?
If you’re behind on your mortgage or worried that you might not be able to make future payments, Corcoran Neighborhood Organization can connect you with a counselor who can negotiate with your mortgage company to get them to modify your mortgage so that you can afford the payments. This is a free service with no minimum or maximum income limit.

Home Security Check from MPD

Free Home Security Check from Minneapolis Police Department
Reduce the opportunity for your home to be vulnerable to forced entry by scheduling a FREE Home Security Check offered by the Minneapolis Police Department SAFE Unit. Graffiti Abatement

Graffiti is more than petty vandalism. Please cover or report gang markings to 3-1-1 swiftly, to help deter gang activity and keep our neighborhood safe. The City of Minneapolis requires graffiti to be removed within 10 days. Remove graffiti with free products available at Minneapolis Fire Stations. Find out more services and tactics at the City of Minneapolis’s website.
