BLOCK CLUBS AND BLOCK LEADERSHIP
Block Clubs
Corcoran Neighborhood Organization (CNO) encourages residents, including homeowners and renters, to organize and create stronger connections with one another, starting at the Block level. Positive relationships with neighbors reduce crime and foster a healthier environment in which to live, work, and play. CNO can help block leaders and block clubs organize around and discuss issues that affect their blocks.
Block Leader Training
Trainings are cosponsored by the Community Crime Prevention (CCP)/SAFE unit of the Minneapolis Police Department and Corcoran Neighborhood Organization. Everyone is welcome, from new Block Leaders, residents who want to know where to get more information, and veteran Block Leaders who would like a refresher course.
By partnering with CCP/SAFE and Corcoran Neighborhood Organization, attendees:
§ Meet the Crime Prevention Specialist for the 3rd Precinct, their connection to CCP/SAFE.
§ Discuss their Block’s concerns, and learn how to stay informed and solve problems.
§ Learn strategies to prevent and respond to crime, stay informed, and educate neighbors.
§ Learn how to improve the livability and physical condition of their Block.
§ Meet more neighbors and share ideas with experienced Block Leaders.
§ Receive a free copy of CCP/SAFE’s Crime Prevention Resource Manual.
§ To inquire about upcoming training dates and location, contact Corcoran Neighborhood Organization at 724-7457.
