CenterPoint Energy Low Income Rental Conservation Program

The following is a press release from Energy CENTS Coalition.

Do you live in a one-to-four unit rental property? Do you want to lower your natural gas bills? CenterPoint Energy offers an energy conservation program for income-eligible tenants. Tenants benefit from energy conservation measures that this program can provide.

Eligible property owners and tenants can receive:

  • Free Energy Audits
  • Energy Efficient Furnaces/Boilers
  • Energy Efficient Water Heaters
  • Attic Insulation
  • Wall Insulation
  • And related Repairs and Health/Safety Measures

CenterPoint Energy pays for 50% of the costs of all improvements and covers the full cost of the energy audit ($350-$950 value). Property owners contribute the rest of funding for any installed measures.

To qualify, the property must be 1-4 units, use CenterPoint Energy natural gas, and at least half of the households in the building must be low income. For more information, contact Brenda at the Energy CENTS Coalition: 612-991-3155 or brenda@energycents.org.
