Prepare for Thanksgiving at the Midtown Farmers’ Market
To help you prepare for Thanksgiving, the Midtown Farmers’ Market will stage an encore market this Wednesday, November 25. Stop by at the usual market site at 2225 East Lake from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for locally-produced meat, vegetables, squash, apples, chocolates, canned goods, and more. The Midtown Farmers’ Market season runs from May through October.
Foreign students seek host families in your neighborhood
The University of Minnesota will welcome 30 students from China to attend a full time study program this fall. The U seeks warm, loving host families for the students in Corcoran and other neighborhoods convenient to campus. Families will be paid a monthly stipend of $400 per student. Take free Block Leader Training Dec. 10
Become a more effective lookout and leader on your block. The Minneapolis Police Department presents its free block leader training seminar on Thursday, December 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the MPD 3rd Precinct Community Room, 3000 Minnehaha Ave. The course covers how and when to use 9-1-1, how to work with your crime prevention specialist and the MPD, how to organize a block club, and more. Minneapolis & St. Paul Home Tour wants your home
The 2010 Minneapolis & Saint Paul Home Tour is looking for homes for the annual Tour. Applications are due January 21, 2010, and early submissions are encouraged.
