CNO General Membership dinner and meeting Nov. 9
The CNO Board invites all Corcoran residents to a dinner and neighborhood meeting at Mogadishu Mall (3011 Cedar Ave S) on Monday, November 9 at 6:00 p.m. Bright Moon Restaurant and Coffee Shop will begin the catered meal at 6:00, with the meeting to follow, from 6:30-7:30. Topics will include putting your garden to bed for winter, a new neighbors' group sharing "peak oil / mutual self reliance" skills, updates on land use issues in the neighborhood, and an invitation to get involved in other neighborhood efforts.
Ask City officials about your property taxes Nov. 10
Property taxes pay for many services our community depends on greatly. What questions do you have about property taxes, what they pay for, and why taxes are going up (again)? Come to a community meeting and put your questions to some of the officials who make tough decisions about how to provide services and how to pay for them. Lake Street Council Fundraiser Nov. 12
Lake Street Council (LSC) invites you to its 13th annual fundraiser event, a Wine and Beer Tasting and Silent Auction, on Thursday, November 12 at 5:30 p.m. at El Nuevo Rodeo, 3003 27th Ave S. LSC is the business association for all of Lake Street; its annual fundraiser helps support the small business community with services, programs, marketing and more. Greenway Coalition Fundraiser Nov. 13
A house party will raise needed funds for the Midtown Greenway Coalition. The Coalition is battling the high voltage power lines proposed for the Greenway corridor by Xcel Energy. Along with $20,000 in legal fees, the fight has taken up considerable unfunded staff and volunteer time. The house party will feature beverages, eats, good company, and a call to contribute what you can. Friday, November 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Blumenshine residence, 3156 Elliot Ave S.
