Join Neighbors for a Fall Wine Tasting & Benefit This Friday

If you enjoy learning about wine and eating delicious appetizers with neighbors, then clear your calendar for this Friday afternoon! CNO and the Chatterbox Pub are co-hosting a wine tasting from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on October 26 at the Chatterbox (2229 E. 35th St). Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, so stop by the CNO office or call 612-724-7457 to buy your ticket. Half of the proceeds will benefit the Corcoran Neighborhood Organization (CNO).

Final 2007 Farmers' Market Will Celebrate Harvest

Come celebrate another successful season of the Midtown Farmers’ Market this Saturday – the final market of the season! As always, a wide variety of fall produce, eggs, cheese and meat await you, along with fresh coffee, made-to-order crepes, and live music. This Saturday’s Harvest Festival celebration will feature a 10:00 am showing of “Seasons of Plenty,” the market documentary by local filmmaker Steve Hansen.

Artists Unite! Happens Again this Wednesday

Calling all artists! The next monthly meeting of south Minneapolis artists known as Artists Unite! will happen this Wednesday, October 24, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Susan Hensel Gallery, 3441 Cedar Ave S. Artists Unite! convenes artists for food, fun, and conversation, including cool tools, jokes, artwork, complaints and kudos. This is social networking at its best. Bring a dish to share, and a friend!

October 3-PAC Happens on Monday

Many citizens of the 3rd Precinct serve on an advisory board to the Minneapolis Police. Everyone is welcome to attend this monthly meeting with Precinct staff. A week later than usual this month, the next 3-PAC meeting will be Monday, October 29 at 6:30 pm. Meeting location is 3000 Minnehaha Ave S.

Latinos en Acción Sponsors 'Day of the Dead'

Latinos en Acción, a shared program of the Corcoran, Powderhorn Park, and Longfellow neighborhoods, will sponsor Day of the Dead celebrations in south Minneapolis on November 1, 2, and 3. For a complete listing of events--all free and open to the public--click here. Day of the Dead is a traditional Mexican and Latin American celebration that includes decoration of ancestors' graves.
