According to Crime Prevention Specialist Karen Notsch, big thanks are due the neighbors who called 911. "Residents have a crucial role in addressing crime on their block," says Karen, "This was a great example of neighbors working together with uniformed officers to maintain safety."

Alley Katz Defeats Graffiti, 34th & Cedar Mural Postponed

The mural project at 34th & Cedar was postponed until spring due to weather, but a few blocks south, 40 people transformed a vandalized garage into a work of art. Corcoran resident and Alley Katz co-founder Stacy Husebo says the mural and landscaping project was a great alternative to anger, the usual response to graffiti. Stacy and friend Roxanne Stuhr hope it will be the first installation of many. Contact alleykatz_mpls@yahoo.com.
