Be Part of History: Help Design and Paint a Mural on Lake Street

Teenagers and adults, be part of history this week! Help design and paint “The Way We Move,” a community mural that will explore the history of travel on Lake Street, from foot paths and horses to buggies and trolleys and cars and trains. The mural will grace the Maaco Auto Center, 2005 East Lake Street.

Be a part of the design team and share your ideas at the planning meeting: Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6:00-7:30 pm. Then get ready to paint, this Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday Oct. 14, between 10:00 am to 6:00 pm both days. Wear paint clothes, and feel free to bring brushes or rollers, ladders or sawhorses, and friends who want to paint too! All ages are welcome, artists and non-artists. No experience is needed.

The mural will be number 3 of 10 in a yearlong Corcoran Youth Mural project led by artist Elise Kyllo and CNO. The project is made possible by many, many volunteers, the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council through an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature, and paint provided by Valspar.
