Midtown Farmers’ Market needs your help

photo by Jeff BlanchThe Midtown Farmers' Market's generous landlord of 7 seasons—Minneapolis Public Schools—will sell the Market's site of 7 seasons for redevelopment this winter. The Market wants to be part of the redeveloped site at 2225 East Lake. In fact, the Corcoran redevelopment plan (which is part of the city's plan) calls for housing, retail, and public open space including a farmers' market. But city plans and zoning cannot ensure that redevelopment will accommodate a farmers market.

The Midtown Farmers' Market needs your help to make it happen. Come down to the Market on a Tuesday (3:30 to 7:30) or Saturday (8:00 to 1:00; season ends Oct. 31) and find out how you can help, or contact Eric at CNO to get involved. As always, Corcoran residents are also invited to participate in the Land Use & Transportation / Housing committee meetings, the 3rd Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
