Corcoran Youth Mural Project featured on KSTP

Check out the story KSTP ran on the Corcoran Youth Mural Project by following this link to a full video. Please note that CNO staff filled in for Elise Kyllo—the local artist leading this exciting new project—as she was in Michigan building a yurt at the time (no kidding). Congratulations to all project participants on your success!

Join Elise and your neighbors to paint "THE WAY WE MOVE," a mural about the history of transportation, on the wall at Maaco Auto Center (2005 E. Lake Street) on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday Oct. 14 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm both days. For more info contact Eric at CNO.

Prepare Your Yard for Fall at Block Talk #4

Everyone is invited—rain or shine—to Susan's garden at 3441 Cedar Ave S this Wednesday, October 3 at 6:00 pm. This installment of Corcoran’s Living Green Block Talk series will feature information on shade gardening, fall planting and maintenance, soil health and mulching, composting, and yes: edible plants! Exciting mini grants will be offered to help attendees implement the bright (green) ideas. Check it out!

To discuss your ideas for a block meeting, "green" or otherwise, please contact Eric at CNO.

Farmers’ Market Documentary Aired on TV

“Seasons of Plenty,” the new documentary about the Midtown Farmers’ Market by local filmmaker Steve Hansen, aired on Channel 16 and 17 during September. The documentary features the history of the market, market vendors, and interesting tidbits on Minneapolis history. If you missed the television programs and would like to host a viewing, please contact Market Manager Joanna Stone.

Newspaper Team Will Meet, New Volunteers Needed

The October issue of the Corcoran News hit the streets last weekend. Who puts it all together?, you might ask. Each month the News is written and assembled by a group of dedicated neighborhood residents. You are invited to join them at their next meeting on Monday, October 8 at 6:30 pm at CNO. No experience is required, and a number of roles, from writing to photography to layout, are available.
