Block Talk #4: Rethink Recycling and Clean Without Toxics

This Tuesday’s Living Green Block Talk is a block club meeting with bonuses. Not only will attendees strengthen the neighbor-to-neighbor connections that prevent crime, but they’ll learn more about household cleaning without toxics, and also what it means to rethink recycling. Many of the cleaning products we take for granted can be harmful to our health and quite costly when compared with natural, homemade alternatives. Recycling is just as easy to take for granted—many items once destined for a landfill can now be recycled, so it’s important to know what to throw. The whole neighborhood is invited:

Living Green Block Talk #3: Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7:00 pm on Lynn’s front porch at 3332 22nd Ave S, rain or shine.

Looking forward, mark your calendar for Living Green Block Talk #4: the evening of Wednesday, October 3. Watch next week’s Advocate for topic and location. Contact Eric at CNO with your ideas for a block event!

Joanna says, “I'll see you all at the market next year—as a shopper with a canvas bag instead of as a manager with a clipboard.” The Midtown Farmers' Market seeks a creative, self-motivated person with strong leadership and organizational skills for a full time position as Market Manager.
