Is there a block club near you, or have you thought about starting one? An occasional meeting of neighbors on your block builds a friendlier community that is stronger against crime. On Tuesday, August 4, blocks across Minneapolis will get together for National Night Out. Is your block getting together?
Close the street for free on National Night Out
National Night Out is Tuesday, August 4. While you certainly don't have to close your street to have a block party, NNO is the one time each year when Minneapolis residents can close their street for free, with verbal permission of 75% of neighbors. July 21 is the deadline for free street closure, which costs $100 beginning July 22 and is not available after July 30. To register your event and apply for street closure, visit the Minneapolis NNO website or call 3-1-1.
Join neighbors for a wine/beer tasting event
A wine and beer tasting event will benefit CNO on Thursday, June 25 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the banquet room of the Chatterbox Pub, 800 Cleveland Ave S in St. Paul (not the south Minneapolis location). The event will feature Chatterbox food paired with microbrews and quirky wines. $25 tickets include beer, wine, appetizers and conversation.
