Clare Housing breaks ground on 45-unit apartment in Corcoran

Clare HousingClare Housing, the state's largest provider of housing for people living with HIV/AIDS, held a groundbreaking ceremony on May 26 for Clare Midtown. This supportive apartment facility will be located at 3105 23rd Ave S in the Corcoran neighborhood. Clare Executive Director Lee Lewis expects to open the facility in early 2011. Find detailed coverage on the project in the June edition of The Corcoran News paper, currently being delivered to Corcoran neighborhood households.

Midtown begins Tuesday farmers market June 1

Market logoStarting on June 1, the Midtown Farmers Market will be open Tuesdays from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 2225 East Lake, the very same location as our Saturday (8:00 to 1:00) market. Experience Midtown's new mix of vendors and wares—you'll find your week's worth of seasonal produce, a selection of arts and crafts, and delicious dinner or late afternoon snacks (gelato, pizza, hotdogs, doughnuts)!

A slate of exciting events will take place at the Midtown Famers Market in June, including a June 5 Town Hall Forum with Senator Patricia Torres Ray, Representative Jim Davnie, and Representative Jean Wagenius, a June 5 Cooking Demo with Beth Dooley, a June 5 Composting Demo with Corcoran GROWS, a June 12 Cooking Demo with Caroline Grawe, and a June 26 Cooking Demo with Ron Huff. Register your garage sale for BIG June 12 event

Garage SaleThe largest neighborhood garage sale in Minneapolis returns on Saturday, June 12 from 9:00 to 5:00. Individual households set up their own sales at their homes, and SENA and CNO take care of publicity and inclusion of all participating sales in a sales guide and map. Get your own Midtown Farmers Market lawn sign

lawn signHelp neighbors and visitors find the freshest source of locally-produced food, crafts, and community gathering in the neighborhood, by hosting a Midtown Farmers Market lawn sign on your property. Signs are available at the market during open hours for a suggested donation of $5. The City asks that you post your lawn sign in your yard, rather than on the public boulevard.
