Be part of the 3-Neighborhood Garage Sale on Saturday, June 14

Garage SaleThe annual Standish, Ericsson, and Corcoran Neighborhood Garage Sale is a community-wide event that extends from Lake Street to the Minnehaha Parkway, and from Cedar Avenue to Hiawatha Avenue.

Plan your own garage sale on June 14th, and the Neighborhoods handle publicity, including advertising in the StarTribune and other local media. We'll also provide a free lawn sign for your event. Friday, June 6 is the last day to submit your sale for inclusion on the “Garage Sale Map and Guide.” Call SENA at 612-721-1601 to have your sale included. Each year we hand out over 600 sale maps to eager shoppers.

Last year 101 individual garage sales took place. According to Bob Kambeitz, Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood Association (SENA), the event brought over $19,000 into the neighborhoods. Now entering its sixth year, the Neighborhood Garage Sale is held rain or shine.

The free map and guide to all of the sales will be available from 8:45 to 3:00 on June 14th at neighborhood locations including Firefly Café and the Midtown Farmers' Market.

Clare has already shared preliminary plans with Corcoran's Land Use & Transportation Committee. Clare needs only a portion of the land parcel for its proposed assisted living facility. Join Corcoran residents for continued discussion on this development at the next Housing and Land Use & Transportation Committee meeting, 6:00 pm on Monday, May 19 at CNO. We'll also update on other commercial developments and address questions about specific foreclosed or vacant residential properties.
