CNO Welcomes Five New Volunteers to Executive Board Three residents were elected to the CNO Board at last night's General Membership meeting, including Sara Blanch (Vice Chair), Michael Rohrer (Treasurer), and Joe Kurr (At Large). The meeting was attended by 16 people. Earlier in May, Heather Grazzini was appointed the new Chair of the Events Committee and approved by the Board, and Russ Henry will begin serving as the Board representative from Restorative Justice. |
The Monthly Corcoran News Will Continue, With Your Help Based on strong turnout to exploratory meetings, the CNO Board moved to continue the Corcoran News as a monthly newspaper, to be published by a volunteer team of residents with limited staff support. The Board plans to evaluate this process again in September, with hopes that the volunteer energy continues. The next meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 9 at 6:30 pm at CNO. See you there! |

Events Committee Will Plan Movie Nights in the Park A free movie will be shown on a big screen in Corcoran Park on the second Wednesday evening of June, July, and August this year! CNO's Events Committee meets this Thursday at 5:45 pm at CNO to plan the details. |
Paint a Mural on Cedar Ave This Friday & Saturday Muralist Elise Kyllo is seeking volunteers of all ages and skill levels to help finish the mural on the Modern Window Shade building, 3400 Cedar Ave S, from 4:00 to 9:00 pm this Friday and 1:00 to 6:00 on Saturday. (Rain day is Sunday 1:00 to 6:00.) |

Met Council To Auction '31st St Triangle,' Residents Will Meet Despite urging by CNO and the City to pursue a community-friendly development process for the large, vacant parcel at Hiawatha Avenue between 31st and 32nd Streets, the Metropolitan Council will auction the land to the highest bidder. CNO's Land Use & Transportation / Housing Committees will meet this Monday at 6:00 pm at CNO to strategize. The agenda will also include discussion of community remedies for vacant and boarded housing. |
Share Conversation and Crime Prevention Ideas at Potluck The next monthly Network of Caring Corcoran Neighbors Potluck will occur next Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 pm at Corcoran Park (3334 20th Ave S). Bring a dish to share, an interest in meeting new people, and ideas to keep our community friendly and safe. 12 attended last month's potluck, and conversation topics included walking patrols, block leader trainings at the Precinct, a block clean-up, and a homegrown blooming boulevards initiative. |
