Join a Network of Caring Neighbors: Potluck Tomorrow

Are you ready to join neighbors to deter crime and make our streets more livable? Perhaps you’re already active, and wish to share your efforts or join forces with others. Attend a gathering this Wednesday, March 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Corcoran Park (3332 20th Ave S) to share ideas about citizen crime prevention in the Corcoran neighborhood. Plug in to efforts around 34th and Cedar, join a walking patrol, hear from volunteers with Restorative Justice, start a revolution against gang graffiti, or just meet some new people and learn more. Everyone’s welcome. This is a potluck event, so please bring a food item to share. Dishes and silverware will be provided. Contact Eric at CNO with questions.

Parade Planning, 'Common Well' Continue at HOBT

Story-telling is the essence of In the Heart of the Beast Theatre (HOBT) and its annual May Day Parade. Each year, the parade's theme is developed in a two-part community meeting and then portrayed through spectacular puppets and floats created by hundreds of volunteers. Staff artists have developed storyboards around ideas discussed at the first community meeting, and these will be presented for feedback at the second meeting on Tuesday, March 27, 7:00 pm, 1500 E. Lake St. To learn more about getting involved in the May Day Parade or about HOBT's current production, 'Invigorate the Common Well,' click here.
