CNO clarifies neutral stance on Midtown biomass project In order to clarify its current neutral position with regards to the Midtown biomass project, the CNO board retracted its participation in the "good neighbor agreement" with Midtown Eco Energy at its Feb. 6 meeting. The "good neighbor agreement" (GNA) called for clear and regular communication between the developer and community organizations during project construction and startup. While the developer sought participation in the GNA with various nearby community groups, only East Phillips' participation was required in order for Midtown Eco Energy to complete purchase of the project site from the city. The East Phillips Improvement Coalition withdrew from the GNA in January 2008. |
