New gas station coming to 3550 Cedar Avenue

Holiday Stationstores has purchased 3550 Cedar Avenue South, formerly the site of A to Z Rental, for a new gas station and convenience store. Please join your neighbors from Corcoran, Standish, and Powderhorn at a community meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6:00 pm at CNO, 3451 Cedar Avenue S. Attendees will be able to hear about the proposal and provide feedback on four applications to be decided by the City Planning Commission, including:

+ Conditional use permit for an automobile convenience and car wash facility.
+ Conditional use permit for 24 hour operation seven days a week.
+ Variance to reduce the front yard setback along Cedar Avenue South, from 20 feet to approximately 15 feet for the car wash.
+ Site Plan Review (including design and landscaping). (The proposal does not need a rezoning.)

Reuse for "Red Rooster" building in the works

The now vacant "Red Rooster" building at 3541 Cedar Ave S could become a Subway restaurant this year. The prospective business owner will share his plans at Corcoran's Feb. 18 Land Use & Transportation/Housing Committee meeting, 6:00 pm at CNO. Everyone is invited.

Clare Housing bids for "31st St Triangle"

As expected, the Metropolitan Council put the Corcoran parcel known as the "31st Street Triangle" (at Hiawatha and 31st) on the auction block, and Clare Housing appears to be the successful bidder. Clare will attend Corcoran's Feb. 18 Land Use & Transportation/Housing Committee meeting, 6:00 pm at CNO.
