Cedar Ave Holiday gas station to open Jan. 7 A new Holiday gas station will open for business at 36th and Cedar on January 7. After a well-attended meeting of over 40 residents with Holiday officials at CNO in early 2008 and a well-attended March 2008 City Planning Commission meeting, where Holiday's bid for 24 hour operation was denied, the project was put on hold. But in Fall 2009 Holiday officials announced they would move forward under standard operating hours allowed by the City of Minneapolis zoning code: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with closing at 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. |

Prevent wintertime auto theft and idling fines Leaving your car running while you're inside could be a costly mistake. According to the Minneapolis Police, it only takes seconds to break a window or jimmy the door lock. Furthermore, it's against City ordinance to leave your key in the ignition while you're not in your car, and officers may issue tickets to vehicles running with no driver present. Running your car to keep it warm may leave you in the cold! |
